Mommy left today for California. Yiayia picked up Cassandra at 4 pm from daycare in the pouring rain. We came home and brought some groceries in the house. Cassandra played with playdough and was a really good kid.
Supper was a chicken drumstick, french bread, watermelon and a chocolate cupcake. Cassandra made a big mess with the cupcake, but she sure enjoyed it!!
She had no nap today, so she was in bed and asleep by 9 pm.
Saturday, May 6
Today Cassandra and Yiayia drove over to Cassandra's house so that Unkie could take Dylan to soccer. Cassandra was very happy to be going to see her cousins. She played with Elise all morning while Unkie was at karate and when he got home.
At noon Unkie had to take the kids to the dentist. Casandra and Yiayia got in the car to head back to Yiayia's house, but Cassandra was really sad that she left her cousins. She wanted to wait "on the road" for them to be finished with the dentist. So Yiayia got Cassandra lunch a MacDonald's and took Cassandra to the dentist's office, where she was so happy to see her cousins. She played on the slides and with the toys in the dentist's office. After everyone was done at the dentist's we Yiayia took Cassandra and Elise back to Yiayia's house and the girls played with Eva.
Soon after, Glennie and Cassandra went shopping for water guns and more. Yiayia took Elise back to Cassandra's house to be with her father and siblings. Casandra came back from shopping happy with the water guns and a new Octonauts movie.
Cassandra ate fish sticks, french fries, and watermelon for supper.
Sunday, May 7
Yiayia left early for her conference on the Cape. Cassandra spent the day with Glennie. She had a nice time. First, she went out for breakfast with Glennie and Donna, and then she went to see her cousins and play at her house. She let her butterflies go in the back yard in the bright sun. That was a happy time for everyone.
In the afternoon her cousins went home and she went for a ride to Donna's. Cassandra took a nap on the way there, and came back rested. She was up late that night!
Cassandra and Glennie went to visit Yiayia Cressie and brought her a cupcake! She went to bed about 10:30 pm!!
Monday, May 8
Glennie took Cassandra to day care about 9 am, and picked her up about 4:30 pm after work. Yiayia came home from the Cape around 4:30 pm. Cassandra had a nap today at day care!!
Yiayia and Cassandra opened up the present for today from Mommie. It was a box of Swedish fish, which Cassandra really liked. She ate 3 or 4 fish right away!
After she ate the fish, she had dinner and then Glennie went to a meeting. Yiayia and Cassandra went to visit Yiayia Cressie. She played with the figures lining the dining room chair rail and tried to pet Mittens. After the visit, we came home and got ready for bed. Cassandra had an apple for a snack and some ice water. We read books and watched Octonauts. She had a hard time settling down, and didn't go to sleep until 10:45 pm. Way too late!
Tuesday, May 9
This was a very busy day. Cassandra woke up at 7 am, just before Yiayia left for work. She stayed with Glennie and had a nice morning. After a while, Glennie took her to Susan's. Yiayia picked her up at 4:15 and we came home and had dinner. One the way home we stopped at Walmart and bought a cupcake game for fun!! When we got home we played "make a cupcake!"
Wednesday, May 10
Today Cassandra woke up late, at 8:30 am! She was catching up on her sleep! She went to Susan's about 9:30 am and had a great day. Yiayia picked her up about 4 pm with her cousin Elise. Cassandra was playing outside in the backyard with her daycare friends. We went back to Cassandra's house and played and the girls jumped on the trampoline.
Before the bath we had watermelon and played with a doggie.
After Casandra's bath we watched an episode of Octonauts and she went to bed. She thought it was silly when Yiayia started to sing "creature alert; creature alert!!" Cassandra had an apple to eat while she watched her show and went to bed early. It was a very nice day.

Today Cassandra had a very happy day. She woke up at 7 am and was happy. We started the day with apple juice and blueberries. Yiayia went to work, and Glennie took Cassandra to Susan's about 9 am.
Yiayia picked Casasndra up at 3:30 pm and we met Glennie at the Motor Home. He just came back from picking the camper up at Camper's Inn. Cassandra was happy to visit the motor home and play on the top bunk for a few minutes. This is a picture of Cassandra after Yiayia picked her up from day care.
After we came home from the "camper van" Cassandra and Yiayia made cupcakes. Cassandra picked chocolate cupakes and chocolate frosting. Yummy.
After we made cupcakes came dinner. Cassandra ate a huge dinner of pork roast, broccoli and applesauce. She then ate one of her cupcakes. After dinner she played one game after another, all night long, with a break for dancing to "Let it go."
Here is a picture of Cassandra and Glennie playing "Operation" on Yiayia's bed. Cassandra opened her new socks yesterday with the card asking her to trace the letters for the names "Cassandra, Mommy and Yiayia". After I read the card to her, she said "Where is Glennie's name?" Smart girl. So we said that the bottom row said Glennie and Yiayia. She felt better then.
Cassandra fell asleep at 10:45 pm!!

This morning Cassandra woke up at 8:10 am. She was tired and caught up on her sleep. Glennie took her to day care about 9:30 am. Yiayia was getting sick this day, but she soldiered on. Yiayia got out of school at 12:30 pm and then she and Glennie took the motorhome to learn how to hook it up to the car. After that, we filled it up with gas so it is ready to go for Memorial Day weekend.
Yiayia picked up Cassandra at 3:15 and we went back to Yiayia's house. On the way home we stopped at Walmart and bought Shopkins toys, only two little ones. Yiayia made dinner and we ate and played. We had a bath and danced in the bathroom first! Cassandra was happy and had a good day at daycare. She went to the library with Ezra, and more.

This was a crazy, busy day. Yiayia was sick but managed to participate in most activities. We got up early and got ready for the Boy Scout yard sale. We got there early, and Cassandra loved picking out some new treasures, especially her one-of-a-kind unicorn head!! A bonus of attending the yard sale was that Yiayia caught up with an old friend who has a 16-year-old daughter, Eileen. Eileen was a delightful girl and immediately made friends with Cassandra. We took Eileen's contact information as she loves to babysit.
We went home for a short time, and then left to head for the Duck Race sponsored by the Rotary Club. Cassandra was very excited to see the ducks race. It was damp and cold and on the verge of rain, but we braved the weather and went to the race. At the duck race, Cassandra saw all the ducks come down the stream, she jumped on the bouncy house, and bought goodies to eat.
After the duck race, Eileen came over!! She played and played with Cassandra and also took her on a nice bike ride. Eileen stayed for about an hour and a half, but Cassandra got to know her and trust her in that time.
Cassandra went to dinner at Donna's with Glenn and Yiayia Cresse, as by suppertime Yiayia was really sick. Cassandra had a good time and came back with some goodies. She went to bed at 10:30 pm as she napped in the car. Cassandra woke up at 2 am with a fever. Yiayia and Glennie gave her Motrin and something to drink and she fell back to sleep. Poor baby.

Well, today was "sick day" for Cassandra and Yiayia. Cassandra has a low grade fever but by evening it was gone. She showed no other signs of illness. We played games, cuddled, played with toys, etc.
To make her feel better, and because she was complaining of a sore throat, Glennie got her a Sponge Bob Square pants ice cream from the Gulf store. Cassandra played with lots of toys.

Mommy is coming home today!! Cassandra went to Susan's late because she slept until almost 8:30 am. Glenn took her to Susan's around 11 am. Yiayia picked her up at 4 pm and then we went to Cassandra's house to wait for Mommy to come home.
Cassandra was wonderfully behaved. Yiayia and Glennie enjoyed having her and seeing her dance and sign and play and be happy. She is a true joy!
This is the end of a wonderful time and "vacation" with Cassandra. She is a joy and the light of my life. I will always love her.
